Hey music lovers! This weekend was a huge hit for Brevard. We had the Pisgah Pickers sold out show at 185 King Street on Thursday. Saturday, Fifth House played the first Osk-tober fest downtown and then headed over to King St to play the after party. What a killer time we had. This evening we are playing the first Mike Ashworth and Friends show at 185 King Street and the following Mondays we will continue. Tonight’s special guest is Nicky Sanders of Steep Canyon Rangers. He is rumored to be bringing his wah noises. Spaceship Fiddle! Derrick Gardner on all funk sounds and Bill Berg on fireworks. If you haven’t been to one of our shows, you’re in for a surprise as much as we are. We never know what will take place. We just bring in a different guest each week and go from there! See you tonight.
Jeff is hosting a different group each Monday at the Quarry restaurant in Brevard. The first show brought out many friends to play and listen. I’ve had the pleasure of playing music with Jeff for some time now and he’s invited me along for a few of these jams. They’re fun, off the cuff improv nights and I hope you’ll come to one soon.
I have been teaching in the Asheville area for the past eleven years. It has been wonderful to help so many people learn to play and appreciate music. Now that I am in Brevard, I am looking to bring that experience to the hometown. Contact me today for availability!
There is a lot of excitement in the air for the fall! At Jordan Street Cafe in Brevard we will have our annual after thanksgiving jam, Friday after thanksgiving. This year will feature BAGS (Bullman, Ashworth, Guggino, Sipe) with special guests Brian Turner on keys and Isaac Wells on percussion. Sure to be a good time.
November 30th at Jordan St will bring Pisgah Pickers back to the bar room again. Jeff Sipe (ARU, Leftover Salmon, too many to mention) Mike Guggino and Woody Platt (Steep Canyon Rangers) Steve Trisman (Jupiter Coyote, One Leg Up) and me on bass. Stellar shows!
